Spencer, appearing shocked, asked how the reporter had uncovered the late-2007 relationship and then said: “I would rather you didn’t write about that… You are probably going to nail me with this… I think some people in the movement would probably find that terrible.” Spencer’s ex-girlfriend told Mother Jones, “I am not the only Asian girl he has dated”—a fact Spencer confirmed.”
