Civil War in Spain?

Spain is a modern European nation, not some third world jungle hellhole or Eastern European backwater still struggling to recover from Communism. Catalonia, a region of the country with their own culture and identity, seeks autonomy from the central government, which has led to a call for secession. It’s a region in southern Spain, on the Mediterranean coast. Predictably, the national government isn’t overjoyed at the prospect, and seeks to keep Catalonia from leaving. In response, nearly half a million protested. This ongoing balkanization of Spain could lead to a civil war. The trend, once again, folks, is not toward unity and cohesion, but ethnic and regional identity and dissolution. It’s happening, worldwide. We won’t be any different.
