What is “The Fourth Turning”?

There are some big-tent advocates in the alt lite who advocate trying to change the American culture over time by being inclusive of homosexuals, race mixers, and even nonWhites. In their reasoning, perhaps because they are physical cowards themselves and fear the inevitable conflict coming, or perhaps because they sincerely want mixed race and homosexual persons to be included in a future White nation due to insecurities over theirs or their families’ ethnic backgrounds or mental illness, they label those who are not as weak in their worldviews as “exterminationists” and “apocalyptic”.

Those who have been keeping up with demographic shifts and emerging socio-political trends, however, understand that something downright apocalyptic, and potentially exterminationist, is just over the horizon. Even civic nationalists such as Steve Bannon not only recognize this emerging truth, but are driven by it.

The Fourth Turning is a 1997 book by William Strauss and Neil Howe, two historians who describe the cycle of eighty year intervals in civilization. In their estimation, every trend and indicator demonstrates that the United States is headed towards a catastrophic crisis. According to their website, America experienced two prior Fourth Turnings, one in 1775, and the next in 1860. A third was defined by the stock market crash and global war. Therefore, the most likely outcomes of this current cycle, within a decade from the present day, is either economic collapse, revolution, or civil war. Or, all three.

‘Winter Is Coming,’ and We’d Better Be Prepared

History is seasonal, and winter is coming. … The very survival of the nation will feel at stake. Sometime before the year 2025, America will pass through a great gate in history, one commensurate with the American Revolution, Civil War, and twin emergencies of the Great Depression and World War II. The risk of catastrophe will be high. The nation could erupt into insurrection or civil violence, crack up geographically, or succumb to authoritarian rule.

‘The American Dream Is Dead’

James Truslow Adams (wrote) of an ‘American Dream’ to refer to this civic faith in linear advancement. Time, they suggested, was the natural ally of each successive generation. Thus arose the dogma of an American exceptionalism, the belief that this nation and its people had somehow broken loose from any risk of cyclical regress …. Yet the great weakness of linear time is that it obliterates time’s recurrence and thus cuts people off from the eternal — whether in nature, in each other, or in ourselves.

“In a Fourth Turning, the nation’s core will matter more than its diversity. Team, brand, and standard will be new catchwords. Anyone and anything not describable in those terms could be shunted aside — or worse. Do not isolate yourself from community affairs …. If you don’t want to be misjudged, don’t act in a way that might provoke Crisis-era authority to deem you guilty. If you belong to a racial or ethnic minority, brace for a nativist backlash from an assertive (and possibly authoritarian) majority.”

Balkanization is coming. Everybody has to choose a team, or have one chosen for you. Get ready to de-side.
