In 2015 a railway engineer, Brandon Bostian, killed eight people and injured 150 in a train wreck brought about by his own reckless behavior. As you can see from this follow up article the courts found him ‘not guilty’ this year:

Obviously, he is neither a Republican nor a White Nationalist. I’m guessing he identifies with the LGBT community. That’s the real reason he walked.
This decision might help James Alex Fields, Jr., too. Hypothetically, the 13th amendment of our Constitution guarantees equal protection (punishment) under the law.
