Aristotle understood the obvious, as surely did perceptive men in kingdoms and civilizations which rose and fell long before the birth of Western Civilization: Democratic systems only work when there’s an affinity, a sense of shared heritage, identity, and fate among the citizenry. A political jurisdiction where the constituents share nothing in common with one another except for common citizenship paperwork cannot stand without increasingly tyrannical application of outside pressure. Americans are choosing to bowl alone rather than with neighbors who don’t share the same origins, priorities, interests, or even language.
Among “serious” political thinkers, much of the blame for America’s increasingly polarized and radicalized nature lies in the evils of “gerrymandering.” The thinking goes that congressmen are diabolically tracing districts for themselves to ensure their own elections aren’t competitive, cutting up “centrist” districts and resulting in a contrived atmosphere of political extremism.
Centrist bugmen are the most despicable and delusional voices in contemporary American politics, and they sincerely believe there are data-driven machine learning solutions to the problems we face. Just program the fancy supercomputer to draw up a district map after the next census which inputs “fairness” as its objective metric and then browbeat congress into favoring it over their selfish desire to polarize America. It’s no surprise that they believe the problems they caused by a soulless globalist disregard for human differences will be resolved by doubling down on their soulless disregard for human differences.
Harry Enten’s “Ending Gerrymandering Won’t Fix What Ails America” post over at Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight website deconstructs the assumptions behind this theory, relying on sophisticated computer-generated redistricting models to disprove the model. What’s wrong with America is that everybody’s polarizing, balkanizing, and internally migrating to achieve social, ethnic, and racial consanguinity in spite of federal demands that we all integrate and assimilate.
This existential problem for “America” is actually a solution for “Americans,” who are organically self-segregating into regions, communities, and neighborhoods where they’re less alienated and isolated. Nobody except for think tank centrists actually want racial, social, and political integration, and these condescending technocrats are the most self-segregated of all, typically belonging to Jewish and immigrant elite cliques with their own neighborhoods, social scenes, and private schools for their global cosmopolitan offspring.
But gerrymandering — the drawing of political boundaries for the benefit of one party or group over another — is a far more complex topic than some analysts and partisans care to acknowledge. As our gerrymandering series has shown, there’s no “right” way to draw a district. Prioritize one goal — competitiveness or nonwhite representation, for example — and you have to sacrifice others.
In case you inferred from the wording here that unfairly biasing in favor of nonwhites would be problematic because it disenfranchises whites, what he’s actually referring to is how doing so would exacerbate the polarization. All White status, privilege, wealth, and even health are problematic “gaps” we must “close” by forcefully transferring what’s ours to the sullen and resentful other. No matter which technocrats end up drawing the next map, you can be guaranteed that your interests and representation will not be accounted for.
So if the redistricting process isn’t solely to blame, what else is going on? It’s actually pretty simple: The states, counties and even neighborhoods from which districts are drawn are less competitive than they used to be because voters are sorting themselves. People are changing their political opinions to be more like their neighbors’, and people are moving to regions where their political viewpoint is more common. This “self-sorting” means more and more areas come, in essence, pre-gerrymandered — dominated by partisans. That makes it more difficult to draw competitive districts without an increased effort to do so.
A common challenge to the ethnic separatist argument is that it would necessarily be a nightmare of mass forced population transfers because everybody’s allegedly too rooted in their communities to relocate to where they’re more welcome and represented. I would claim that there hasn’t been a single shot fired in America’s mass migrations, though the tens of millions of White Flight refugees from our major cities might insist that getting away from shots being routinely fired in their former neighborhoods was a prime motivator.
Greg Johnson has elucidated this point in his Slow Cleanse essay. Simply encouraging rather than systemically and socially discouraging this process which is already well underway will be sufficient, in conjunction with the subsequent political transformations in the respective regions which will make Whites even less comfortable in the areas they don’t dominate while making non-Whites less comfortable in the areas they don’t dominate. Perhaps all those Whites with a beloved non-White nephew or best friend will be willing to suffer the South African-style punitive racial quotas and social alienation on their nephew’s behalf, …though I have my doubts.
What we need are “Local Solutions to the Globalist Problem,” solutions which could and likely would converge on an extension of the bloodless balkanization which has already been underway for decades into one or more (likely more than one) sovereign and secure ethnostates for White Americans. Unlike many White Nationalists, I don’t resent or worry about those who choose diversity and globalism. God bless them and their rainbow families, …but I’m not obligated to share their political spaces or their alienated brazilianized future.
Pew Research confirms that fewer and fewer Americans have a blend of liberal and conservative views, a natural consequence of politics devolving from a gentleman’s debate between English landholders over ideas into a tribal proxy battle between racial and social aliens over finite resources and privileges.

We at TradWorker are often derided for our supposed extremism and lack of pragmatism regarding conventional politics. In our opinion, we’re skating to where the puck’s going to be, not to where the puck currently happens to be. This current arrangement, where Whites necessarily encrypt all of their ethnic advocacy in elaborate and plausibly deniable dog whistles and appeals to “the rule of law” or whatever, isn’t long for this world.
As tens of millions of White Boomers drop into the demographic abyss in the coming decades, Whites will be left with no choice but to politically advocate for their own interests in increasingly affirmative and explicit voices. Conjoin that with the fact that non-whites and immigrants have been promised that this whole beautiful empire will land in their laps in the coming decades without a fight, and the dramatic polarization we’ve already seen is but a tremor before the Godzilla of tribalism and balkanization re-emerges from the depths.
Furthermore, the unhappy marriage between Whiteness and “small government” isn’t long for this world, either. For the past generation or so, small government has been the only non-taboo way to advocate for limiting the federal government’s wealth transfer from White families to these exciting New Americans that the government systemically favors. With continued automation and the ongoing decline of the 20th century’s industrial economy, having a “real job” that actually earns an honest wage in the competitive economy is already becoming something of a precious privilege for Millennials and Gen Z youth.
TradWorker has several workshops across America where our skilled tradesmen are apprenticing younger members to excel at the skilled trades which are least immune to what’s coming. These programs are a product of our long-term outlook, where a majority of the jobs will be politically sensitive bullshit government jobs which will not only fire any political dissidents, but explicitly and systemically favor females, immigrants, and minorities over White males.
The future will necessarily be a big government one, because the invisible hand of the market’s no longer there to deliver a factory job with benefits and a pension to every young man with a strong back who shows up on time. But that doesn’t mean it must be this particular big government, this prolapsed empire which regards White identity as a problem that must be solved. We must begin demanding more rather than less from this government, and shaking off all of those altruistic “American patriot” habits of trying to ensure that this system is stable and solvent: we want the opposite.
