Letter #2
31 March 2018
Second full moon this month called a blue moon and it’s the second Blue Moon this year.
It is my 88th day of incarceration.
Dear Diane and Jim,
Thank you for your February 15th letter. I was only allowed to keep the first page page 1 through 2 of it in my cell. The other page was apparently too dangerous — something about pictures that might provoke violence?! They did allow me to read page 3 while standing in the office, but because of the wartime pictures showing the destruction of the beautiful city of Dresden, by Allied Forces I might add, page 3-4 of your letter had to be confiscated and put into “storage.” One day when they’ve decided they’ve had enough of me here and no longer wish to entertain me in this five-star hotel of theirs, they might give that back to me. The irony of it all never ceases to amaze me.
I appreciated the article you sent me by Leo McKinstry, however even there, I wonder if he is what we might call controlled opposition or perhaps he himself has just not peeled back all the layers of the onion. For example, he talks about the Dresden raid of February 1945, “where as many as 25,000 people were estimated to have been killed.” What sources is he using for that “official figure?” Anyway other than a few numbers, it was an excellent article. Thanks for sending it.
As I alluded to in my introduction to this letter, it is a powerful day today and so I am happy to be writing to you on this day. I’m doing well playing my violin now, which makes me very happy. Sending you and all our friends.
