Imagine that five minutes after your reading this the internet goes offline. Reports of terrorist attacks and declarations of martial law, along with competing claims that the President and Vice President have been removed from office, add to the growing confusion as news reports of violence and anarchy trickle in from the remaining media outlets which then go silent, one by one. The power grid shuts down. Your cell phone doesn’t work. What would you do?
How would you contact your family, to get them together to safety? Would they know what to do? Would you join the traffic jams trying to escape to more rural and homogeneous areas, or hunker down and try to shelter in place?
How would you procure supplies? Would you have enough to eat? Would your neighbors be allies or adversaries? Could you defend your home from looters? How would you get clean water? If it happens during this or any other winter, how would you heat your home? What if there is a medical emergency?
Every day there are new articles about the coming civil war. More and more people are talking about the likelihood every day. Polls indicate that many Americans know it’s coming. What have you done to get ready? Do you expect to have an extended warning before it begins?
When chaos begins, civilization itself may unravel quickly. Services and supplies may be interrupted for an extended period of time.
Will you let your children starve, or be raped and killed, because you were too busy watching a football game to get involved in a real life network of like-minded friends in your area?
